As Dejusticia's Communications Coordinator, this is one of the most important transnational collaborations I have led. The program encompassed a journalism training workshop in Cúcuta, a border city at the epicenter of the migration crisis. Over four days, seasoned Colombian journalists shared their crisis reporting strategies with their Venezuelan counterparts, focusing on the situation in Cúcuta at the time. Subsequently, Venezuelan journalist teams spent three days covering stories along the border.

Our vision with this program was to empower Venezuelan journalists while fostering strong professional connections between them and their Colombian colleagues. This collaboration was intended to transcend borders and draw attention to the crisis through the realm of journalistic experimentation.
Our efforts culminated in the creation of eight compelling stories that humanized the Venezuelan exodus. In this endeavor, we partnered with five media outlets spanning both countries—El Espectador in Colombia and Runrun, El Pitazo, Crónica Uno, NTN24, and Correo del Caroní, in Venezuela.
Our concerted efforts resulted in a simultaneous publication of the report, leaving a profound impact that etched images of Venezuelan migrants into the collective consciousness. This achievement stands out in a reporting landscape that had pred
